Up in the north is the hare - a lightly hunted but prized food game. Hunting hares is a challenge to say the least, as they often use advanced tricks to mislead the hunter and the hunting dog. Hare hutting is usually carried out with a duster or other stalking dog, with which it is also possible to track the hare.

Hare hunting is permitted from 1 September to the end of February. The hake meat can be used in stews, madae into pâté or fry.
